Karthick Naren’s Nirangal Moondru, starring Atharvaa and R. Sarathkumar in the lead roles, was released in theatres on November 22 and received disastrous responses from audiences.
After failing at the box office, Nirangal Moondru was released yesterday on the Aha OTT platform. Following its OTT debut, many viewers have commented that this film is one of the worst movies of the year.
Karthick Naren was celebrated as a talented new-age director after his debut film, Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru, released in 2016, became a huge blockbuster, earning praise from audiences and critics alike.
However, after Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru, he directed three films: Mafia: Chapter 1 with Arun Vijay, Dhanush’s Maaran (which was released directly on OTT), and the recently released Nirangal Moondru. Unfortunately, all three movies ended as disasters.
In addition, Karthick Naren started directing a film titled Naragasooran in 2018 after Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru. While the movie’s shooting was nearly completed, it remains unreleased due to various issues.
Following his string of failures, people on social media are now labeling Karthick Naren as a one-time wonder, stating that none of his films after Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru are watchable and describing them as very boring.
