Hansel Mehta’s OTT masterpiece ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ got a franchise sequel in 2023 which was directed not by him but bh Tushar Hiranandani.
After ‘Scam 2003: The Telgi Story’, Mehta announced that he will be coming back with a third installment of the Scam franchise soon. It was titled ‘Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga’.
The filmmaker announced that the show will chronicle Subrata Roy’s humble beginnings and his financial disgrace leading to his imprisonment in the Tihar jail.
But it has been so long and there has been no update on the show yet. Hansal Mehta has released ‘Dedh Bigha Zameen’ with Pratik Gandhi now. His upcoming show ‘Gandhi’ will probably be released this year too.
But there is no information on ‘Scam 2010’ yet. Scam is a much-loved and critically acclaimed franchise and also probably SonyLIV’s biggest hit. Fans have been raising questions on whether it will be made at all or not.
At this point, the filmmaker and SonyLIV should come forward and assure that the show is in progress and it will be released as soon as possible.
