Indian creators never shy away from making a different version of the same story over and over again. Only the cast and language are often changed and a movie/series is released. The latest incident to get the same treatment is based on the Balakot Air Strikes performed by the Indian Air Force in 2019.
A web series based on the air strikes named ‘Ranneeti: Balakot & Beyond’ will soon be streamed on the OTT platform Jio Cinema. The forty-second trailer has been released with the announcement and looks similar to the recently released Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Fighter’. Fighter has received mixed reviews owing to its not-up-to-the-mark use of VFX and CGI and a cliche storyline. But, it performed decently at the box office amassing ₹336.55 crore against a budget of ₹250 crore.
The teaser did not elevate adrenaline or hopes for the upcoming series. The VFX looked as if copied from an animated movie. The only good thing about the teaser was the dialogue and facial expressions of the actors. If they maintain the level of acting portrayed in the teaser, we may get a good behind-the-scenes drama for the preparations that went behind the air strikes.
Ranneeti will star Jimmy Shergil, Lara Dutta, Suneel Sinha, Ashutosh Rana, and Ashish Vidyarthi among many others.
