Thangalaan, the ambitious film by Vikram and Pa. Ranjith, released on August 15, turned out to be a flop.
The film, set against a unique backdrop, was supposed to stream on Netflix months ago but faced delays. Netflix India reportedly ran into a conflict with the producers, disrupting their release plans.

It seems the issues have been resolved, as Netflix began streaming Thangalaan at midnight in India and countries like the USA.
Surprisingly, Netflix did not push any notification for the release, which is unusual for a notable film. No newly edited Netflix trailer was also released, and the movie dropped quietly without any promotion.
