The Bhatt brothers of Bollywood are well known for making nail biting & erotic horror films like Raaz, Murder and Jism. The sensuous and wicked appeal of these films have made a niche for themselves amongst the horror lovers. Their most recent project on the same lines will be streaming on Hotstar from 26 July.
Bloody Ishq is directed by Vikram Bhatt and written by Mahesh Bhatt. The film features the Balika Vadhu fame Avika Gor who was a part of Bhatt brothers’ 4th instalment of 1920 film series in 2024. It will also have Vardhan Puri, the grandson of Amrish Puri in the lead role with Avika. This horror film is a romantic-thriller based around the haunted house trope with the desi tadka!
It will be interesting to note viewers’ reception of the film after its OTT release. Often Mahesh and Vikram Bhatt’s projects come under the radar of critics for their cliched storyline and hefty use of romance with cheesy music scores. Over the years, the line up of their films have become the reflection of the abysmal state of Indian horror films and unfortunately Bloody Ishq’s trailer gives the same vibes.
