Raj & DK the producers behind Guns and Gulaab, Family Man and Farzi are bringing a Netflix period fantasy with Tumbbad director Rahi Anil Barve. The star cast includes Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha and Wamiqa Gabbi. The name of the show is speculated to be called Rakhtbeej or Rakht Brahmand.
Barve was already in the news for Gulkanda Tales that has been in making since 2.5 years. The addition of this new series might mean that fans will have to wait much longer for the highly anticipated series set in the fictional town of Gulkanda starring Pankaj Tripathi, Patralekha and Kunal Khemu. Barve is exceptional when it comes to blending mythology and mystery in his works but the long delay in the release has been daunting for the fans.
The new project was in pre-production for the last six months and the shooting will begin in August. Aditya Roy Kapur’s performance in Night Manager has garnered him much acclaim and Samantha’s collaboration with Roy & DK is nothing new as she has been a part of the Family Man franchise and Citadel: Honey Bunny with Varun Dhawan. Wamiqa Gabbi is the latest entry in the project and has been in OTT projects like Grahan, Mai and Jubilee. With this new unnamed series set to roll, it only increases the restlessness of their fans.
