Yash Raj Films’ WAR 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR, has been a major box office disappointment. The film had huge expectations but failed due to a weak story, dull screenplay, poor VFX, and ineffective promotions. Initially seen as a 1000 crore potential film, it barely reached Rs 400 crores worldwide.
WAR 2 is now heading to Netflix after the usual eight-week theatrical window for Hindi films. It will stream from October 9 in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. Fans are curious to see whether it performs better on OTT or faces renewed criticism after its theatrical failure.
Many viewers are expected to watch the film on Netflix just to understand why it flopped. Some feel that lowered expectations could help it find a small audience on OTT. Social media users suggested people might watch it thinking it’s a disaster, only to find it “just bad” rather than worse.
Initial curiosity may drive decent viewership for the first few days. However, most believe that after the rush, WAR 2 will settle into Netflix’s library as another missed opportunity. Many feel it could have been so much more, making its failure even more disappointing.
