Director Ajay Bhupathi’s “Mangalavaaram” earned praise for its remarkable technical aspects, such as cinematography, background music, and sound design, resulting in decent reviews. However, the film’s content failed to match the technical brilliance, leading to poor performance at the box office, further impacted by a crucial World Cup match during its first weekend.
Since its release on OTT, the film has sparked wild reactions from digital audiences.
Some are captivated by the bold concept, commending Ajay Bhupathi’s gutsy approach and stylish execution, while others appreciate the shocking twists and turns, especially the impactful climax. Payal Rajput’s portrayal of the character Shailu, a nymphomaniac, is receiving positive acclaim.
The film is also garnering praise for the incredible background music by B. Ajaneesh Loknath of “Kantara” fame. Despite these positive aspects, the film’s length remains a concern for some viewers, with regular lags and drags due to the lack of meat in providing thrills.
However, “Mangalavaaram” seems to have found some what better acceptance on OTT compared to its theatrical run.
