ZEE5 continues to stand out for its stable streaming quality compared to many OTT platforms facing frequent glitches. But recently, it has faced a different kind of backlash for showing condom advertisements during family shows.
Many users took to social media to complain that these ads play even when families and children are watching together. They said the constant appearance of condom-related commercials during serials and movies makes viewing uncomfortable at home.
One user shared that their family, including children, watches Telugu serials on ZEE5, and showing such ads during those programmes “is not in good sense.” Another user called it “pathetic” that every show begins with a Durex condom advertisement.
Users agree that while ZEE5 offers smooth streaming and a diverse content library, these ads spoil the viewing experience. They want the platform to be more mindful of when and where such commercials appear.
Despite ZEE5’s steady improvement in programming, the issue with these ads may soon become a bigger problem if not addressed promptly.
