Earlier this year, there were reports of Aamir Khan joining hands with debutant filmmaker Rahul Mody for a biopic based on the life of controversial startup entrepreneur Ashneer Grover.
The announcement quickly became a talking point online, with industry insiders eager to see Aamir portray the journey of one of India’s most famous startup figures.
The excitement grew further when it was revealed that Shraddha Kapoor would be starring opposite Aamir Khan in the film.
The project was expected to go on floors in March 2027, after Aamir wrapped up his period drama with Ashutosh Gowariker.
However, according to the latest developments, Aamir Khan has decided to step away from the project due to creative differences with Rahul Mody.
A source close to the development revealed that Aamir was genuinely intrigued by the startup ecosystem.
He was reportedly excited about exploring Ashneer Grover’s unconventional journey on screen.
The actor even spent considerable time with the script and worked on developing it according to his vision and sensibilities.
However, over time, creative differences eventually led him to part ways with the project.
Despite Aamir’s exit, the project is not getting shelved.
Rahul Mody and Shraddha Kapoor remain committed to bringing the story to the big screen and have started the process of finding a new actor to take on the role of Ashneer.
The makers are reportedly looking for a relatively younger actor for the lead role.
According to sources, discussions are already underway with two to three prominent names.
The film will be produced by Shraddha Kapoor in collaboration with a leading studio. She will also portray the role of Ashneer Grover’s wife.
Aamir Khan is known for doing unconventional roles in films and this biopic was a way for him to step into the same space again.
Did he do a huge mistake by leaving the project remains a question.
