Fans of Aamir Khan were eagerly waiting to see his cameo in Coolie, but it arrived only after more than 150 minutes and left many disappointed. The much-hyped appearance offered very little, and audiences felt it lacked the impact they had hoped for.
Although the climax hinted at a sequel, it is not confirmed whether Aamir will have a bigger role in the future. Many fans on social media are upset and claim that the actor made a mistake by taking up the role, which added little value.
Interestingly, reports suggest that the role was first offered to Shah Rukh Khan. Netizens now argue that he saved himself from criticism by rejecting it, unlike Aamir who ended up facing backlash for what many believe was a poor choice.
Some viewers also feel that director Lokesh Kanagaraj miscalculated the casting. A section of the audience argued that roles played by Soubin Shahir or Nagarjuna could have been given to Aamir Khan, which might have delivered a stronger and more memorable performance.
While a few praised his entry in the climax, they pointed out that it lacked intensity. His character maintained a smile throughout, which reduced the intimidating effect. Even though he shot down enemies in the sequence, fans said it was not impactful.
Aamir revealed earlier that his decision to do the cameo was mainly because of Rajinikanth. However, many feel he could have asked Lokesh for more screen time to justify his presence and avoid leaving audiences with such a forgettable impression.
Looking at the overall response, Aamir Khan’s cameo in Coolie seems destined to be remembered as a disappointment by fans. With the backlash growing on social media, many hope Aamir will make more careful choices in the future.
