
One of the best Bollywood actors who is often known as the “Perfectionist” is now facing a humongous amount of trolling because of his own statement.

Aamir Khan, who advocated original storytelling, and discarded the idea of remaking is now following the same pathway as it seems.
His films like “Lagaan”, “Rang De Basanti”, “Taare Zameen Par” they all showcased originality and nuanced point of view of life. However, his recent trajectory marked by remakes, sparked a contradiction with his own beliefs.

Despite his own statement if we keenly notice then Aamir Khan’s filmography is marked by many remakes such as “Ghajini” which was a remake of a Tamil film, “Laal Singh Chadda” an adaptation of the movie “Forrest Gump” and now the current sensation “Sitaare Zameen Par” which is a scene by scene remake of a Spanish movie “Champions”.
In a recent interview Khan said, he has no issues with remakes because, a story which somebody has already created he is putting his own point of view in it, which is completely fine according to him. In the same interview he drew the example of adapting Shakespearean dramas, which he labeled as “remakes”.

Now, the basic thing is adapting something from a century old playwright and giving it a modern touch is far different from taking a modern film and recreating it.
On the other hand Khan’s engagement with remakes suggests a complex relationship with his own ethos of original storytelling, as he keeps on exploring with his artistic views his already existing values which are clashing with his current values will keep him under the lenses of the critics.
