The 2026 release calendar is already heating up, with several major films lining up for box office clashes. Amid this competitive scenario, Akshay Kumar’s upcoming horror comedy Bhooth Bangla has officially been postponed.
Fans were eagerly waiting to see Priyadarshan reunite with Akshay Kumar. Initially, Bhooth Bangla was expected to hit theatres on April 2, creating strong anticipation among audiences.
However, the makers have now confirmed a delay. The film will release on May 15, pushing it back by nearly a month from its original schedule. This announcement has left many fans slightly disappointed.
The postponement has triggered discussions online about the possible reasons behind the move. Several fans are also debating how the delay could impact the film’s box office performance.
Many believe the decision was taken to avoid a clash with Dhurandhar 2, which is scheduled for release on March 19. The first Dhurandhar enjoyed strong audience support and continued its theatrical run even a month after release.
If Dhurandhar 2 follows a similar trend, it would have overlapped with Bhooth Bangla’s original release window. This could have affected collections for both films.
Meanwhile, the shift may also impact Sidharth Malhotra’s upcoming film Vvan, which was earlier slated for May 15. Since both films are produced by Balaji, a postponement is being speculated.
April still remains packed with major releases. Salman Khan’s Battle of Galwan is set to release on April 17, while Awarapan 2 arrives earlier on April 3.
In addition, Bhooth Bangla could also face competition from Dhamaal 4 at the box office. With several big films in play, fans are keenly watching how these clashes will shape Bhooth Bangla’s theatrical run.
