Akshay’s New Film Faces Backlash Over Heroine

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar casting news

Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan are collaborating once again after Bhooth Bangla and Haiwaan. Although the movie’s title has not been announced yet, Priyadarshan has finalized Bhumi Pednekar as the female lead and further updates are awaited.

The casting of Bhumi was confirmed by the director himself, who said that she has agreed to do the film. Notably, this is also the third collaboration between Akshay and Bhumi after Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Raksha Bandhan.

While the film has become a topic of discussion now, fans are not happy with a lot of things. Akshay’s supporters are specifically unsatisfied with his choice of female lead.

Fans pointed out that Bhumi has hardly delivered any hits since the last few years and she has now become an OTT face. Netizens claimed that Bhumi’s presence is expected to be the one particular reason for which the upcoming film will not work at the box office.

On the other hand, Akshay’s collaboration with Priyadarshan has also disappointed a lot of people. Fans wrote that although his comeback with the director helped him to deliver a hit like Bhooth Bangla, their second film, Haiwaan, emerged as a big disaster.

A few fans addressed the collaboration with Priyadarshan by saying that Akshay is taking his stardom and career for granted. Some alleged that Akshay is possibly not taking his list of flops seriously and if that is the case, then he should now start doing OTT shows and films instead of bringing losses to the theatres.

However, a particular section is still curious to watch the film since they are interested in knowing the genre that Priyadarshan will pursue this time. But after the disastrous response to Haiwaan, it remains to be seen if Priyadarshan will once again bring a serious subject or go back to doing a comedy film.

While a potential release date remains unknown, the upcoming updates and the promotional materials will decide the movie’s fate.
