Hera Pheri 3

Director Priyadarshan had something big in store for his fans on the occasion of his birthday. The filmmaker, in an X conversation with Akshay Kumar, revealed that he was ready to direct Hera Pheri 3, the third instalment of the iconic franchise.

Responding to Akshay’s birthday wishes, he said, “Thank you so much for your wishes, Akshay. In return, I would like to give you a gift: I’m willing to do Hera Pheri 3. Are you ready, @akshaykumar, @SunielVShetty, and @SirPareshRawal?”

This will not be the first time Priyadarshan will be working with Akshay. The duo have worked on several projects in the past, creating some gems in the process.

Their partnership in Hera Pheri was phenomenal, giving the film cult status, although it gave an average performance at the BO.

Garam Masala, released in 2005, featuring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, and Paresh Rawal turned out to be a major hit.

Bhagam Bhag and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, released in 2006 and 2007 respectively, shared a similar fate, both cementing their position as solid Box Office successes.

Although ‘De Dana Dan’ (2009) turned out to be average, with ‘Khatta Meetha’ (2010) also getting a below-average verdict, these films too affixed their places in the hearts of many in India.

With the actor-director duo currently working on Bhooth Bangla, their future with Hera Pheri 3 heavily relies on the former’s level of success at the BO.

If Bhooth Bangla fails to create an impact, there will be a significant chance for Hera Pheri 3’s future to become uncertain.

Even if this happens, many fans still want Priyadarshan to direct Hera Pheri 3 regardless of Bhooth Bangla’s performance due to a strong belief that no one can understand the characters of Raju, Shyam and Baburao better than Priyadarshan.

With Bhooth Bangla slated for a 2026 release, there is still time before the public gets any certain news on this matter.
