Bollywood actor Akshay Oberoi, who is part of Yash’s highly anticipated film Toxic, has revealed that he learned Kannada for his role. In a recent interview, Akshay shared that while the film is being made in both Kannada and English, he found speaking Kannada easier and more expressive than English.
The actor explained that emotions such as expressing love for a family member feel more natural in Indian languages, including Kannada. He added that he has even managed to pick up accents for his role. Interestingly, when asked if his wife helped him in learning the language, Akshay clarified that he worked on it himself.
Akshay’s casting in Toxic was confirmed back in April, and he has since been focused on understanding Kannada culture to bring authenticity to his performance. Known for underrated yet impactful roles in projects like Inside Edge, Akshay’s entry into Kannada cinema marks a major step in his career.
However, the spotlight of Toxic will undoubtedly remain on Yash, with reports suggesting that multiple leading actresses will also be part of the period drama. The question now is whether director Geetu Mohandas has given Akshay enough screen space to make a strong impression alongside Yash. Fans will have to wait for more updates as the film progresses.
