We all witnessed Laal Singh Chaddha, an Indian remake of Forrest Gump, succumb to critical as well as box office failure. Film pundits declared many reasons for the same and a lot of debate ensued on social media. But when the lead actor takes the entire responsibility on himself, one can imagine the humility it takes to accept that! Yes, Amir Khan, the perfectionist of Bollywood, has stated recently that his film Laal Singh Chaddha couldn’t connect with the fans because his performance was not up to the mark.
In a candid interview, he poured his heart out and left fans stunned. Usually actors blame a film’s failure on different circumstances in an attempt to do away with any responsibility with it. Owning up to a film’s failure requires courage as it puts one’s credibility in question. But Amir Khan is not afraid to face the music, in fact he is willing to work on his mistakes. Unlike other A-listers who keep releasing 4-5 film’s a year, Amir Khan now wishes to focus on just one project a year. He also shared that he wants to make room for the newcomers and for this reason he shall produce 4-5 films with new talents each year.
Aamir Khan is currently focusing on his next release Sitaare Zameen Par. It will be a sequel to Taare Zameen Par and it will be a story of embracing uniqueness in oneself. We can only hope that his realisation works and fans are won over by the film. But only time can tell that!
