War 2 has proven to be one of the most underwhelming releases from the YRF Spy Universe. Even if the financial front is kept aside, just the plot and poor writing is sending fans on a troll spree over social media.
The expectations were big with a stellar star cast that included Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR and Kiara Advani. Even Ayan Mukerji with his enthusiastic direction was supposed to bring something never seen before in the universe and connect the storylines to establish the importance of the War franchise.
Fans are sharing their disappointment over the lack of appropriate connections established between different films from YRF Spy Universe. Having seen something similar and very well executed in Singham Returns where many stars came together to give a stellar push to the Rohit Shetty cop universe the bar was high for War 2.
But clearly fans are disappointed, as there was a sequence where Pathaan or Tiger could have been introduced but the maker chose Anil Kapoor’s cameo to save Kabir and Kavya. Fans said that Anil Kapoor doesn’t even have much relevance in this universe and this was clearly a lapse of writing on the part of the makers.
A film that could have been a star studded sensation by introducing past or upcoming projects in the spy universe fell flat due to a repeated storyline.
