Varun Dhawan’s Baby John, a remake of Atlee’s Theri, is all set to arrive on December 25, 2024. The trailer is out now and it features some amazing action sequences performed by Varun.
The glimpse was launched at the Dr. DY Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre in Pune and the event was also attended by Atlee, who has produced the film.

Speaking at the event, Atlee said that Varun Dhawan is the second person who believed in him after Shah Rukh Khan.
He further stated that Baby John is aiming to create a new superstar with Varun Dhawan after Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.

Apart from Atlee and Varun, the event witnessed the presence of Wamiqa Gabbi, who plays one of the lead roles. Atlee’s wife Priya was also in attendance alongside Murad Khetani, another one of the producers.
Baby John’s trailer has hinted that audiences can expect some entertainment, which means that the year could end with a bang.

However, Atlee’s statement seems ridiculous considering that he is comparing Varun with Ranbir.
The latter’s film Animal was a blockbuster because it had a unique storyline and it is impossible to create the same impact with a remake.
Varun has a lot of potential and it seems like he is wasting it with a remake. It is the best time for him to try something different like Badlapur.
The trailer has hinted that Baby John is possibly an adaptation of Theri considering that the situations and characters are a little bit different compared to the original. But this is not sufficient to make it successful.
While two songs have been already released, they have not created enough buzz.
However, the budget is reported to be Rs. 85 crores, which is almost similar to Theri. So, the recovery won’t be a tough task if the content is strong.
