A popular trade analyst on X, Ramesh Bala, has shared an early and very positive review of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Bhooth Bangla, giving it 4 stars. His review praises the film’s mix of horror and comedy, highlights the story around a haunted bungalow, and calls Akshay Kumar’s performance one of his best. He also appreciated actors like Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav for adding humor to the film.
According to him, the movie has a good balance of fear, comedy, and mystery, and he even compared it to the charm of Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007). Overall, he described it as a well-made entertainer that keeps audiences engaged.
But this review has not been taken at face value by everyone.
Recently, there has been growing distrust around such early reviews from trade analysts. A similar situation happened recently during the teaser launch of a hyped pan India film’s first glimpse where several journalists and trade experts, including Ramesh Bala, gave very positive reactions after attending a special event. However, when the teaser was released to the public the next day, many viewers felt it was underwhelming. This led to accusations that those early reactions were influenced or “paid.”
People are now looking at this Bhooth Bangla review with caution. The fact that the review has come out two days before release suggests that it may have been based on a special preview or private screening arranged by the makers. While that is common in the industry, it also raises questions about how unbiased such reviews are.
Many believe these early reviews are more promotional than honest. At the same time, it is also possible that the film is genuinely good and the review is accurate. Early screenings do not always mean bias, but the trust level among audiences has clearly gone down.
The real answer will only come when the film releases on April 17. Once general audiences watch it, it will become clear whether the praise was genuine or just PR hype.
