Akshay Kumar is well known in India for films that manage to both touch upon sensitive subjects and still be entertaining and funny. One of such films was Akshay’s 2017 film ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ which was appreciated very much by viewers in India. However it seems that Akshay’s film is now gaining some international appreciation as well in the form of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.

The film Toilet highlighted the issue of open defecation in India and emphasized on the need of sanitation and the role of PM’s Swacchh Bharat Campaign in making India ODF. Bill Gates feels that Toilet as a film was one of the top 3 events from 2017 that inspire us. He tweeted “Toilet: A Love Story,” a Bollywood romance about a newlywed couple, educated audiences about India’s sanitation challenge.”
This kind of recognition will certainly be very good for the film and expose it to a wider audience.
