Following the poor box office run of a big film like War 2, trade experts and theatre owners are now waiting for other upcoming releases that might revive Bollywood in the next few months. Hopes are high even though recent performances have disappointed.
Jolly LLB 3 is the first major release next month. Its teaser and promotional material have not impressed audiences. Still, the trailer is yet to come, and if the film is made on a controlled budget, it may turn out to be profitable for its makers.
Jolly LLB 3 is especially crucial for Akshay Kumar, as his last three films Sky Force, Kesari Chapter 2, and Housefull 5 struggled at the box office. This one could decide his standing as a bankable star in the coming year.
Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 arrives in October. The earlier film was a surprise blockbuster, earning more than Rs. 80 crores in Hindi. With the strong recall value of the first part, trade circles are watching if the sequel can cross Rs. 500 crores in Hindi.
Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor will star in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, set for release next month. The pair may not have a strong box office pull, but Dharma Productions’ brand name could attract audiences, especially with the right music and promotion.
Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is back with Thama this Diwali. The teaser has built early buzz. With fresh characters entering the popular franchise after Stree 2, the film has a good chance to click with both youth and family audiences.
Ajay Devgn, despite the failure of Son of Sardaar 2, will be seen next in De De Pyaar De 2. No poster or teaser has been revealed yet, and its success will depend fully on whether the content manages to impress the audience at first glance.
Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur is also lined up. While its subject looks promising, his solo pull at the box office is limited. Shahid Kapoor is banking on Vishal Bhardwaj’s Romeo for a strong comeback after several flops. Its reception will be closely followed.
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, is scheduled for December 2025. The teaser has earned a great response. With high-energy action and single screen appeal, this one might bring back the grand theatrical craze Bollywood has been waiting for.
