Drishyam 3 actress Shriya Saran has opened up about being a victim of AI-morphed photos. She revealed how disturbing it is to see digitally manipulated images of herself, with altered body parts and clothes removed.
Her comments come after Janhvi Kapoor reportedly became a victim of sexually explicit AI-generated imagery using visuals from the Devara song Chuttamalle. The incident once again brought the misuse of artificial intelligence to the forefront.
In an interview with News18, Shriya spoke about the growing problem of women being targeted through manipulated images. She pointed out how such content turns women’s bodies into objects of discussion on the internet.
“They increase the size of your breasts, suddenly the cape that you were wearing is gone or your backside looks bigger. You’ve to take it with a pinch of salt. Having said that, it’s annoying and it’s not right,” she said.
Shriya acknowledged that AI could offer several benefits and help people in different ways. However, she warned that its misuse could lead to dangerous consequences. She added that the same applies to every technology, and people must learn how to deal with its challenges.
On the work front, Shriya recently appeared in Drishyam: The Conclusion, directed by Abhishek Pathak. She reprised her role as Nandini Salgoankar alongside Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Jaideep Ahlawat. The crime thriller was released in theatres on October 2 and turned out to be a huge hit.
