No matter how big the stardom there comes a time when it starts to recede. It doesn’t mean, the stardom ends overnight, the stars would still be significant crowd pullers, but the range would definitely come down. The final nail in the coffin was Zero, which came on last Friday. It stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead and was helmed by top director Anand L Rai. The reception to the film is disastrous, and it is looking at folding up soon.
Earlier in the year, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan delivered duds with Race 3 and Thugs Of Hindostan respectively. All three Khans failing in the same year has not happened in the last two and half decades. However, what is important to notice is young stars scoring big. It is the reason why many in the trade believe that 2018 is going to be remembered the year when the youngsters took over the mantle from ageing Khans and hence the beginning of the end of an era.
