Five friends set out to turn a business idea into a successful venture, but their plans soon take an unexpected turn. The teaser of Husharu 2 shows glimpses of the gang’s situation in Chittragunj, where their tequila business plans face complications. Returning to the world of the original film, director Sree Harsha Konuganti appears to be expanding the franchise’s comedy elements while retaining the characteristics of its protagonists.
The boys’ proposed venture is to establish what they envision as India’s first agave-based tequila distillery. Their arrival in Chittragunj, however, does not unfold as a straightforward business trip. As trouble mounts, the teaser moves from the gang’s conversations to their attempt to escape through the surrounding forest. This change of setting adds another element to the story, suggesting that the friends have encountered circumstances beyond their original plans. The makers keep the outcome under wraps, focusing on the problems faced by the group. The closing appearance of R. Narayana Murthy Garu adds another element to the teaser, bringing the actor-filmmaker into the boys’ journey.
The sequel features Rahul Ramakrishna, Ashok Galla, Ravi Anthony, Dinesh Tej, Sasidhar Kocharlakota, Vidhi Yadhav, Abhignya Vuthuluru, Bhagwan Tiwari, Jatin Goswami and Rajai Rowan. Written and directed by Sree Harsha Konuganti, the film is produced by Rahul Varma, K. Veena Rani and K. Hanumant Raju, with Komatireddy Sharan Reddy as co-producer. Backed by Caveman Stories, HK Films and Kaliyuga Vaaradha Creations, Husharu 2 is currently in post-production and targeting a year-end theatrical release.
