Chhaava Early Movie Reviews

Chhaava is Bollywood’s most hyped film after Stree 2 in terms of advance bookings. Initially set for a December 6 release, it was postponed to February 14 due to Pushpa 2.

Starring Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji and Rashmika Mandanna, the film carries huge expectations, especially since both actors have had back-to-back box office hits—Vicky with Sam Bahadur and Bad Newz, and Rashmika with Animal and Pushpa 2.

However, early reviews have become a hot topic of discussion.

Controversial critic Umair Sandhu trashed Chhaava, calling it “below average” and criticizing its “irritating screaming and over-the-top performances.” He claimed Vicky Kaushal was completely miscast as Sambhaji and looked terrible in the role.

He even mocked the film’s depiction of history, calling it “a mix of mother-sister abuses with distorted facts and bad VFX.” He gave it a 2/5 rating, suggesting people watch Sanam Teri Kasam instead.

Umair Sandhu is a fake critic with zero credibility. He is notorious for such harsh takes, but interestingly, most films he slams end up flopping. His negative ratings for Sky Force, Deva, and Game Changer all matched with their disastrous box office collections.

On the other hand, renowned Bollywood critic Taran Adarsh had the opposite reaction. He praised Chhaava as a “triumph,” lauding Vicky’s performance and Rashmika’s presence.

He rated it a staggering 4.5/5, calling it “a historical that does justice to its subject and fills viewers with pride. DON’T MISS IT.”

Many suspect Taran Adarsh is exaggerating and has given a paid review influenced by the film’s producers.

While a good film can get 3 to 3.5 stars, a near-perfect 4.5 is raising eyebrows.
