Shah Rukh-Priyanka Romance: Deepika Spoiled SRK’s Plan?

Shah Rukh Khan King Priyanka Casting Rumour

Shah Rukh Khan’s King is only two months away from its arrival on the big screen. While it marks the collaboration of SRK with Siddharth Anand after the success of Pathaan, it will also bring the superstar with Deepika Padukone once again.

Deepika made an extended appearance in Jawan in 2023, which was also a blockbuster at the box office, and ever since then, the actress has been considered to be a lucky charm for SRK by social media users.

As the excitement for King is taking a different turn every day, a new rumour has now created headlines, which is related to the casting process of the film.

A social media report has claimed that, as per a source from a PR company, SRK was reportedly aiming to bring Priyanka Chopra on board. However, the plan did not work as expected, and the role eventually went to Deepika Padukone. Notably, the makers have not confirmed anything about the same so far.

After Don and Don 2, Priyanka never portrayed a full-length role opposite SRK in any film over the years. However, she made cameo appearances in Billu, Ra. One, and Om Shanti Om.

The latest report has started a new discussion on social media, with netizens addressing the impact of the pairing if it had happened as planned. Most of them noted that it has been a long time since SRK and Priyanka appeared together, and this could have been helpful in attracting the masses.

With only a little time left for release, SRK fans have also requested the makers to consider a small appearance of the actress in the film. Some said that a special song featuring her also won’t be a problem.

However, a few others said that this won’t look good since it’s been many years since they worked together, and the sudden decision might damage something that has the potential to work in favour of the film.

Promotional activities for King are expected to start soon, and it will be interesting to see whether the makers will consider the requests of the audience.
