The rise and interest in mythological projects have increased over the last few years. While Ramayana is the next big release in theatres, another movie, titled Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal, is also ready to come to the big screen.
Latest reports have revealed that the upcoming film will bring the story of Hanuman for a global audience. While the film has been delayed due to music and editing work, it will release after Ramayana and is going to be the first AI-generated theatrical feature film in India.
It is going to be released in multiple languages and has been directed by Rajesh Mapuskar. The project is a collaboration between Abundantia Entertainment and Collective Media Network’s Historyverse division. The movie is being co-produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, and Vijay Subramaniam.
Early reports have claimed that Sunny Deol might not appear at all in the first part of Ramayana as Hanuman, and a small glimpse is expected to be featured at the end of the film. While the reports have not been confirmed, netizens said that the upcoming AI film will be a good opportunity for those who want to see the power of the Hindu deity on the big screen.
Just like Nitesh’s film, Chiranjeevi has preferred to maintain authenticity as it is inspired by the Ramayana and Puranic literature. Social media users said that movies based on mythology won’t create controversies until they are made by following the history. Some even said that Chiranjeevi might turn out to be a surprise hit, creating bigger records than Mahavatar Narsimha.
On the other hand, trade experts are doubtful if the movie will work. They said that excessive dependence on AI is something that is not accepted by a majority of the audience today.
Furthermore, they stated that since the film is arriving after Ramayana, the interest will entirely depend on when the film will release. They said that sometimes the repetition of a particular subject might bore the audience, even if it is related to Indian mythology.
As of now, nothing much can be said until the trailer arrives and the advance booking opens. Let’s wait and see if Chiranjeevi will surprise the box office in an unexpected manner.
