Ajay Devgn’s nephew Aaman Devgan is starting his career in Bollywood this year with Azaad. But the actor has already signed a new film and it is a horror comedy.
Ajay’s production company Devgn Films is producing the project along with Panorama Studios. It is titled Jhalak and the makers are yet to confirm other details related to the remaining cast members. Umang Vyas will direct the film along with Tushar Ajgaonkar writing the story.
Ajay expressed his excitement for the film by saying that the main intention was to explore a different genre after the success of Shaitaan last year. He even mentioned that he is confident that audiences will enjoy the film.
Horror comedy films accumulated a different kind of fanbase, specifically after the release of Munjya and Stree 2 last year. It seems like every production company is now willing to explore the genre, starting with Devgn Films.
But there are still a few things that the makers have to take care of to ensure that Jhalak also becomes a hit like other horror comedies over the years. The most important part will be the script which needs to be entertaining to keep the audience hooked to their seats until the end.
However, casting Aaman might be a part of creating hype for Azaad. There is hardly any buzz for the upcoming film and Aaman does not have the perfect personality to play a hero.
It is a good thing that he got his second film before audiences could see him on the big screen for the first time.
If Azaad turns out to be a big flop, viewers will lose interest in watching Amaan again. But nothing can be predicted for now and Amaan might unexpectedly leave a positive impression.
