Hrithik Roshan is all set to return as Kabir in War 2, which will release in theatres on August 14, 2025. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and serves as the sequel to the 2019 action thriller War. This time, Kabir will face a powerful new enemy played by Telugu superstar Jr. NTR, marking his debut in the Yash Raj Films spy universe. Kiara Advani steps in as the female lead, replacing Vaani Kapoor from the first film.
Speaking about the role, Hrithik shared that reprising Kabir was a deeply rewarding experience, as the character is close to his heart. He recalled the love audiences had for Kabir in War, which reminded him of the affection he received for earlier hits like Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, Dhoom 2, and Krrish. This time, Kabir will be portrayed as more intense, with deeper emotional conflicts along with high-stakes action sequences.
Hrithik also revealed that filming War 2 came with its own set of physical challenges. He had to work through injuries and manage pain during the shoot. While it was tough to push through, he said the effort feels worth it when he sees the anticipation and excitement surrounding the film.
War 2 promises a blend of action and drama, bringing together talent from Bollywood and the South Indian film industry. With its large-scale production and release planned for the Independence Day weekend, the film aims to offer an engaging cinematic experience for audiences across the country.
