
Aamir Khan is once again back in the news with his announcements of making a high scale Mahabharata in Bollywood.
He has expressed his desire of making an adaptation of Mahabharata multiple times over the last decade and fans are excited that it is finally coming to fruition.

But what Aamir has planned for the adaptation is very risky. It will be a two or three part franchise and will have multiple directors. While different directors for different parts of the movie can do very well, but in the same movie it can be a bit tricky.
Aamir says the stories of Mahabharata are complex and layered with many themes and emotions and it is not possible for a singular director to capture the nuances of the epic. So he has decided to take multiple directors to helm different segments.

Mahabharata is a very risky project in itself and Aamir will probably be producing the movie as well. A movie of such a huge scale can go through many controversies and nothing can be said about its future with certainty.
Yet, the star is willing to take another risk that he thinks will suit the purpose best. We have seen that Aamir is known for taking huge risks that have worked out really well in terms of business as well.

For Mahabharata, there will be the threat of different styles from different directors intermingling together and creating a hodgepodge with no coherence.
But in good hands, it can be a very good example of epic storytelling and there is an ardent need of movies like this coming from India now.
