Akshay in Big Trouble: Comedy Turned Blunder

Jolly LLB 3 legal controversy

Jolly LLB 3 has run into legal trouble even before its release. Director Subhash Kapoor, along with lead actors Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, has received summons from a Pune civil court after lawyer Wajed Rahim Khan filed a petition.

The petition alleges that the film disrespects the judiciary, with a court hearing scheduled for October 28, 2025. Subhash, Akshay, and Arshad are expected to appear together to respond to the claim.

According to the petitioner, Jolly LLB 3 mocks the legal system and portrays the profession negatively. He specifically objected to the use of the word ‘mama’ for judges, stressing that legal professionals shown on screen deserve respect.

While the petition is trending, the film’s teaser has already faced criticism from members of the legal community. Neither the director nor the lead actors have commented on the matter so far.

The Jolly LLB franchise mixes courtroom settings with comedy, which often leads to controversies. In such films, jokes or satirical elements sometimes unintentionally offend those connected to the legal system.

However, the issue may be resolved before the release on September 19, 2025. The CBFC is expected to intervene and remove or edit scenes that could hurt sentiments, ensuring the film clears objections before hitting theatres.

Controversies have often helped films draw more attention, and this case may boost audience interest. Fans are now waiting to see if Jolly LLB 3 can match the success of its predecessors at the box office.
