The long-running public feud between Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee has resurfaced once again, bringing back a controversy that has continued in different forms since 2019. Their latest exchange has once again become a major talking point on social media.
The disagreement first gained attention during the promotion of Judgementall Hai Kya. Taapsee praised the film’s trailer on X without mentioning Kangana by name. Soon after, Rangoli Chandel, Kangana’s sister and former manager, criticised Taapsee and called her a “sasti copy”, triggering a debate that continued for years.
Since then, Taapsee has repeatedly maintained that she never made any negative comments about Kangana. She even joked that she might be “sasti” because she earns less than Kangana. She also said she had no problem being compared to a talented actress.
The controversy flared up again after Taapsee revealed in a recent interview that she had never met Kangana in person despite years of public exchanges. Kangana interpreted the remark differently and responded strongly through a social media post.
In her response, Kangana claimed that Taapsee was using her name to promote an upcoming film. She also accused Taapsee of indirectly mocking her upbringing and parents. Kangana defended her family and questioned why Taapsee’s parents had not raised someone “original” like her.
The latest remarks have divided social media users. While some supported Kangana’s response, many others criticised her, saying she appeared overly focused on the issue. Several users pointed out that Taapsee has largely stayed focused on her work and upcoming projects.
Taapsee currently has Assi with Anubhav Sinha and several content-driven films in her lineup. Kangana, meanwhile, continues balancing her acting career with her responsibilities as a Member of Parliament. Her latest response has once again kept the long-running rivalry in the spotlight.
This is not the first controversy involving Kangana and fellow celebrities. She recently exchanged sharp remarks with Ramdev over his Gen Z comments. Her well-known public dispute with Hrithik Roshan also remains one of Bollywood’s most discussed controversies.
With Kangana responding once again, the debate has regained momentum online. Whether the exchange ends here or develops into another extended public confrontation remains to be seen.
