After a poor start on day one, Suriya and Disha Patani’s Kanguva witnessed a crash in collections on its second day, Friday, across all regions.

Director Siva and Suriya’s ambitious epic, Kanguva, had a disappointing start on Thursday and continued its downward trend on day two.

Kanguva Part One collected approximately ₹21 crore nett on the first day, marking the highest opening day figure for any Suriya film in India.

However, this fell short of the scale, budget, and expectations surrounding the film.

The second-day figures, unfortunately, dropped drastically.

The Hindi version collected approximately ₹3.25 crore net on Thursday, which was below expectations.

Kanguva was released in national multiplex chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, unlike other Tamil biggies such as Leo and GOAT. So the minimum expectation was that the film would cross at least 5-6 crores.

On Friday, the Hindi version dropped further to ₹2.5 crore net which sealed the film’s fate in the market.

The Telugu version, which collected 4.5 crore net on day one, also saw its numbers down by 50%.

In its home market, the Tamil version earned ₹13 crore net on Thursday but witnessed a staggering 80% drop on Friday.

Overall, the film minted approximately 8.5 crore net at the Indian box office on its second day which means there will be little to no growth over the weekend.

The two-day total stands at an estimated ₹29–30 crore nett.

Here on, the film faces an uphill battle to even cross the 100 crore gross worldwide mark—a shocking and disastrous result.

With a breakeven target of 400 crore gross, Kanguva will struggle to achieve even 25% of that figure.

A colossal disaster of epic proportions.
