Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 became a superhit and collected Rs 332 crore net in India. Singham Again ended with Rs 270 crore net. Karthik proved that he could take on a Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn spectacle and still win.
A recent report suggests that T-Series has locked October 1, 2026, for Karthik’s next romantic musical. The film is directed by Anurag Basu and stars Sreeleela. It is currently titled T-178.
Industry insiders believe this film could be the third installment of the Aashiqui franchise. The strong musical and emotional theme has added to the speculation.
Just one day later, on October 2, 2026, Ajay Devgn is expected to return as Vijay Salgaonkar in Drishyam 3. This film is directed by Abhishek Pathak and backed by Panorama Studios and Viacom18.
With two major holidays, both films will arrive on the same weekend. The big question now is whether Karthik can defeat Ajay at the box office once again.
Karthik has shown that he performs well in clashes. Ajay, however, has faced setbacks with sequels like Raid 2, Son of Sardaar 2 and De De Pyaar De 2 this year. It remains to be seen if Ajay can break this streak and reclaim his dominance.
