Dharma Productions’ Lag Jaa Gale has quietly gone on floors, drawing attention despite its low-key start. While it carries the surface appeal of a mainstream action film, the project also raises a few interesting questions about its positioning.
The film is headlined by Lakshya, Janhvi Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. Directed by Raj Mehta, it is being shot in a rare single schedule from December to March, entirely in Mumbai.
The makers appear focused on efficiency and tight planning. All three lead actors have reportedly blocked dates to ensure the film completes shooting by the end of March. This approach suggests a controlled and time-bound production model.
On paper, Lag Jaa Gale follows familiar territory as a revenge-driven action drama. Tiger Shroff is cast as Lakshya’s nemesis, setting up a direct face-off. Their action sequences are expected to be the film’s main attraction.
This focus is unsurprising given Tiger Shroff’s established action image and Lakshya’s effort to strengthen his footing in the genre. Janhvi Kapoor continues her shift towards more commercial and physically demanding roles with this project.
What stands out so far is the film’s restrained rollout. Initially announced by Karan Johar in 2022, the project later saw him step back from direction while continuing as producer.
That change possibly explains the muted buzz around the film. There is no aggressive marketing or grand positioning, only a clear plan to complete and deliver an action film on schedule. The tone remains measured and controlled.
While the promise of grounded drama mixed with stylised action sounds reassuring, details about the core narrative remain unclear. With a tentative release planned for the second half of 2026, the film will need more than action set pieces to stand out.
