Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi has been in the headlines over the last few days for a lot of reasons. But a new update has now created a new debate on social media.
Authors Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, who were involved with the film, have recently announced their exit. The duo’s involvement started when the film was originally titled Battle of Galwan, referring to the border clashes between India and China in 2020.
The clash between India and China was also covered in a portion of Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh’s book, titled India’s Most Fearless 3.
Shiv took to his official account on X on November 5, 2026, announcing their exit from Maatrubhumi. The statement reads that Rahul and Shiv have decided to end their association with the film since it has moved beyond the account of the Galwan incident that was covered in their book.
The statement expressed gratitude to Salman, director Apoorva Lakhia, and the entire team for giving them the opportunity to be a part of the film. The statement continued, “We hold them in the highest regard and wish them the very best as they bring their vision to the screen. Our heartfelt wishes for the film’s success will always be with them.”
Social media users reacted immediately after the post went viral. A majority believes that the criticism that has emerged from the new song, Teri Sexy Beauty, is possibly the main reason why Shiv and Rahul decided to distance themselves from the film.
People reacted by saying that they believe the fact that Maatrubhumi is evolving beyond the planned narrative, saying that the latest song is a perfect example. Some others also questioned Shiv and Rahul, saying that they should have left the film a long time ago, considering that a fictional film was being made and mistakes were expected to happen.
The latest update arrives at a time when CBFC has cleared the trailer, with a runtime of 4 minutes 43 seconds. The makers are planning to bring the film on November 20, 2026. While an official announcement is awaited, the impact of Shiv and Rahul’s exit on the film’s content is yet to be seen.
