Rani Mukerji returns as Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3, as the trailer dives into a grim world of child trafficking. The story highlights the disappearance of 93 girls within three months, setting a dark and intense tone.
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, the trailer blends action with social commentary rooted in real-world issues. A sinister character called Amma appears to control the trafficking network, while Shivani races against time to stop the crime.
However, the theme feels familiar. Child trafficking has been explored repeatedly in recent years, and the trailer does not offer a fresh perspective. Many viewers feel the plot closely resembles narratives already seen on screen.
Several comparisons have been drawn with Delhi Crime, especially its recent season. The similarities have raised concerns that Mardaani 3 may struggle to stand out unless it introduces unexpected elements.
The Mardaani franchise is known for strong performances and memorable antagonists, particularly in Mardaani 2. With Mardaani 3, critics feel the makers are revisiting a familiar formula, which may limit its impact.
While the trailer promises a solid watch for Rani Mukerji fans, the film’s success will depend on its execution. Whether it delivers fresh twists and strong character arcs will only be known after release.
Human trafficking again!
But we just saw #DelhiCrime3
Can #Mardaani3 outperform it?

Didn’t hit me as hard as Mardaani 2 trailer did. The villain got a bit over-exposed in this one. #Mardaani3 https://t.co/iyPrBLOSpW

#Mardaani3 from the look of it one can tell it will turn out to be a good movie, topic is serious and the ritual of having an intimating villain continues… However the trailer does not motivate one enough to go to theatres for it. Hope the trailer was more tightly edited.
