Actress Raises Doubts on Thamma BO: Empty Theaters?

Meera Chopra questions Thamma box office

Fans had been waiting eagerly for Thamma ever since it was announced. After Stree 2, they were ready to revisit the horror, comedy world once again. The film finally released on October 20 and, as per producers, opened with around ₹25 crore, followed by ₹18 crore on day two.

While many fans seem to have enjoyed the film, others shared mixed reactions online. Among them is actress Meera Chopra, cousin of Priyanka Chopra, who recently raised doubts about the film’s reported box office figures.

Meera, known for her work in Tamil and Telugu films, went to watch Thamma at a Bandra theatre. To her surprise, she found the theatre completely empty. Shocked, she posted on social media asking how the film managed to collect ₹25 crore when she saw no crowd at all.

Her tweet quickly gained attention, sparking discussions among users about whether the film’s box office numbers were genuine or inflated through self-booking. Some pointed out that Maddock Films had faced similar allegations before regarding block or corporate bookings.

While there’s no confirmation that such tactics were used, Meera’s post has certainly stirred debate among audiences. Some users also suggested that she may have visited during a non-peak hour, which could explain the empty hall.

Despite this, the discussion has made many question the authenticity of box office numbers in Bollywood. Given past accusations against production houses, fans remain curious whether Thamma’s figures reflect real audience turnout or strategic reporting.
