Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar has extended support to students protesting alleged irregularities in the NEET examination system.
She recalled that she herself had to appear for the medical entrance exam twice in 2015 due to a paper leak.
In a social media statement, Manushi said asking students to “just write it again” ignores the years of preparation, sacrifices and emotional pressure involved in competitive exams.
She highlighted the struggles of students and families who invest significant time, money and effort in the dream of securing a medical seat.
Her remarks came amid nationwide protests over alleged NEET UG irregularities, including claims of paper leaks and concerns over examination transparency.
Students and parents have gathered in cities including Delhi, demanding accountability, stronger security measures and reforms in the examination process.
The government has responded by promising stronger action against those involved in examination malpractice.
Narendra Modi also announced measures including fast-track courts and stricter penalties for those responsible for exam leaks.
However, protesters have continued to demand deeper reforms, arguing that long-term changes are needed to restore confidence in the examination system.
The controversy has also reached legal and political platforms, with investigations launched into alleged examination malpractice and authorities facing pressure to ensure a fair system for future candidates.
Manushi also clarified that questioning flaws in the system is not against the country or its institutions.
She said the demand is for improvement through dialogue, constitutional processes and accountability, adding that education remains one of the biggest tools for creating equal opportunities.
