Himesh Mankad has revealed that director Mohit Suri and Yash Raj Films, led by CEO Akshaye Widhani, are teaming up again after the massive success of Saiyaara. Their next project is expected to go on floors by mid-2026.
Released in 2025, Saiyaara launched Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda into stardom and revived interest in Bollywood love stories. Even three months later, its music and emotions continue to resonate with audiences, keeping it firmly in the spotlight.
The new film is being developed as another musical romance. The screenplay is in progress, and casting is set to begin early next year. Insiders say the team wants to build on the same elements that made Saiyaara a blockbuster success.
The challenge, however, is clear. Saiyaara worked because of its freshness, music, and timing in an action-dominated era. If the makers rely too much on nostalgia, the emotional impact may not be the same. Originality will be key.
