Priyanka Chopra Revives SRK’s Secret Love Story

Priyanka Chopra backs global love story

Priyanka Chopra is bringing the legendary love story of PK Mahanandia and Lotta von Schendin to the world through a documentary titled The Cycle of Love. She has come on board as the executive producer for this international project.

The film tells the real-life story of PK, a poor Indian street artist, who in 1977 cycled over 6,000 miles to Sweden to reunite with Lotta, a young tourist he had fallen in love with during her visit to India.

Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Orlando von Einsiedel, the documentary promises to showcase the couple’s extraordinary tale through real footage and interviews. His storytelling is known for being authentic and emotionally powerful, raising expectations around the project.

The love story also has a Bollywood connection. In 2013, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had planned to make a feature film called Izhaar, with Shah Rukh Khan as PK Mahanandia. Fans had looked forward to his reunion with SRK after their acclaimed film Devdas.

However, the project never materialised, making it one of Bollywood’s most-discussed unrealised scripts. Now, with Priyanka Chopra’s Purple Pebble Pictures backing the documentary, the timeless story is set to finally reach global audiences.

Fans are divided about the news. Some feel disappointed that they will miss a Bollywood version of this love story, while others are excited to watch the documentary bring PK’s incredible journey to life on the international stage.
