Mrunal Thakur Rashmika Mandanna

Producer Dinesh Vijan has decided to change the release date for his film Pooja Meri Jaan, starring Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi, moving it from November 2024 to early 2025.

This decision comes as a response to the crowded movie schedule in late 2024, particularly with Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s film Chhaava, a biopic about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, set to release in December.

Both films address significant themes—Pooja Meri Jaan focuses on stalking, while Chhaava is a historical drama. Dinesh Vijan, who is the producer of both films, believes that releasing them back-to-back would not be ideal for either film, as they both deserve attention.

The last quarter of 2024 features major releases like Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 during Diwali, followed by Chhaava in early December and Varun Dhawan’s Baby John at Christmas.

The team behind Pooja Meri Jaan felt it was essential for their film to have its own space to ensure its important message is not overshadowed by these larger productions.

By postponing to early 2025, they aim to maximize its impact and visibility in theaters.
