PVR INOX’s Rs 50 Cr Battle: Cost of Consecutive Disasters?

Pooja Entertainment Dispute

Veteran producer Vashu Bhagnani has invited another trouble for himself and his production house, Pooja Entertainment. He is already fighting a legal battle with Ramesh Taurani over the music rights of his old film Biwi No.1. Now, another huge money conflict has added to his problems. It has become a routine that everyday a new update related to Vashu Bhagnani comes out, and nobody understands what is really going on.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, a 50 crore dispute is building up between PVR INOX Pictures and Pooja Entertainment. Reports say that PVR INOX had paid a refundable advance of around 100 crore to the production house. This advance was for the release of three movies, Mission Raniganj, Ganapath, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

The deal was simple. If the movies did not do well at the box office, Pooja Entertainment had to return the extra money. Sadly, all three films failed to perform well at the theaters. This left a major gap between the advance given and the actual money made.

Sources claim that nearly 50 crore is still left to be paid back. PVR INOX has reportedly done many follow-ups to get their money, but they have not received it yet. While this amount is not officially confirmed, reports suggest that PVR INOX is now thinking about taking legal action to get their dues back.
