Salman Khan’s Sikandar failed—and that too, miserably. And now, Salman is ready to dip his feet into another project directed by Apoorva Lakhia, based on the 2020 Indo-China Galwan Valley conflict.

Trade experts had expected Salman to take a break after his recent string of underperforming films, much like Shah Rukh Khan, who took a hiatus after Zero and returned with the blockbuster Pathaan after laying low for four years.

However, Salman seems ready to jump into another film within the next five months.

According to a report by Rahul Raut from PeepingMoon, Salman is likely to star in Apoorva Lakhia’s upcoming film based on the 2020 Indo-China Galwan Valley conflict.

While Salman hasn’t officially signed the project yet, he has reportedly given his go-ahead to the filmmaker.

Apoorva—who previously directed critical and commercial disasters like Mission Istanbul, Zanjeer (starring Ram Charan), and Haseena—has begun preliminary prep work with plans to begin shooting in August or September.

Salman is said to be prioritizing Apoorva’s film because a potential collaboration with Kabir Khan didn’t materialise.

Salman was keen to work on Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 with Kabir, but Kabir reportedly felt that a sequel to such a heartfelt film would be too overwhelming.

Kabir tried to steer Salman towards a standalone action film titled Babbar Sher, but Salman insisted on doing Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 first.

With that project off the table for now, Salman is shifting focus to Apoorva’s film.

Originally meant to star Ajay Devgn, the film is said to be a gripping, first-hand account of the Galwan Valley clash, highlighting the bravery of 200 Indian soldiers who stood their ground against 1,200 heavily armed Chinese PLA troops in June 2020.

Audience reactions to this news have been mixed. Many feel Salman is not fit to portray an army officer, citing his health concerns as a potential hindrance.

Others believe this project sounds far more promising than Ganga Ram, and that if it means avoiding that film, Salman should take the opportunity.

Either way, regardless of the project, Salman will have to put in significant effort if he truly wants to reclaim his place in Bollywood.
