Akshay Kumar is back on the big screen with another action packed entertainer Sky Force. With full patriotism and high octane aerial combat sequences, the film looks for a strong opening.
Aligning its release (24th January) might be a huge and smart move by the makers to attract more audiences. With the debut of Veer Pahariya alongside Akshay Kumar, the film boasts a stellar cast.

Sara Ali Khan is also a part of the film and is seen delivering some intense yet heartfelt scenes. With Akshay’s patriotic filmography history, he perfectly aligns with the athletic and focused role.

A huge risk Akshay will be facing with Sky Force is the streak he is on at the box office. With a string of disasters in recent years, Akshay’s films have been underwhelming at the box office.
As he has already been involved in several patriotic films throughout his career, fans might not indulge in another one of his patriotic quests.

Another huge drawback for the film is its hype. With minimal hype and weak songs, the film is not having the excitement among fans it needs to achieve a huge opening.
The aerial combat genre was already seen in Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter. While the genre is still not outdated, it needs intense sequences to hook the viewers.
Fighter also released during the same period, Republic Day, last year.
While Fighter underperformed at the box office collecting over 200 crores, it remains to be seen if Sky Force would be able to even collect half of that.
With a lot of highs and lows, Akshay Kumar might have to settle with another mediocre box office collection with his upcoming action-drama Sky Force which hits the big screens on January 24th.
