As Bollywood has been on a ride with Horror comedies over the years, it would be an easy choice for a producer to invest in a horror comedy project.
With hits like Stree 2, Munjya, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, fans seem to love horror concepts along with a pinch of laughter. However, things might go wrong if the genre is overloaded with such ideas.

That seems to be the case with Sanjay Dutt’s upcoming horror comedy The Bhootnii. Starring Mouni Roy, Sunny Singh, and Palak Tiwari in prominent roles, the film follows a horror plot along with elements of comedy.
Sanjay Dutt looks in a dark and thrilling avatar while Mouni Roy is seen as an evil ghost in the film. While the teaser didn’t show much of the plot, it is already predictable that the film will follow the same love story and horror angle.

While fans were showing love to films like Stree 2 and Munjya which showed an identical plot, it is risky to say the same thing for The Bhootnii. Fans want something new and the concepts shown in the teaser look overused and boring.
Being the producer of the film, Sanjay Dutt has put up a risky bet as the film might perform underwhelmingly at the box office. The film is expected to release on April 18th in theatres and certainly aims to offer an already winning formula in the industry.

With poor VFX and weak performers like Mouni Roy, the film will likely be an utter disaster at the box office. With no positive points for the film, Sanjay Dutt’s horror venture might be a poor affair.
However as people keep on changing their favorites, it remains to be seen if fans will once again show love to another horror comedy saga featuring Sunny Singh, Mouni Roy, Palak Tiwari, and Sanjay Dutt.
