Mukesh Khanna’s rise to fame as Shaktimaan was witnessed in 1997. But sadly the actor doesn’t realise how far the entertainment industry has come forward.
Back in the days with limited access to Doordarshan kids might have loved Shaktimaan as the sole superhero in their knowledge. But with the rise of American superheroes and engagement on social media and such, the viewers’ expectations are very high.
Just the same old one-man-show can’t work anymore, a lot depends on VFX and technology. Mukesh Khanna claimed that no one can be a better Shaktimaan than him.
He pulled gimmicks like dressing up as Shaktimaan again, giving interviews and criticising actors like Ranveer Singh who are approached to revive his roles. It clearly shows that he is unsettled to give away his lead role as Shaktimaan.
But if Shaktimaan the Superhero is to be revived to match the international standards of cinema it is important to have a dynamic star to play the role. Not only that, a lot of work on script and storyline is also required.
Fans remain excited for the revival and some official confirmation. Even Mukesh Khanna recently clarified that he has not made any derogatory remarks for anyone, he added that he feels that media attention is destroying his reputation.
