The appearances of superstars in pan masala ads have led to severe criticism in the last few years. Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor has created headlines after he rejected an offer to appear in one such commercial.
Notably, the actor was approached with a deal of Rs. 10 crores but he immediately refused the same and there was a specific reason.
According to a source, Anil feels that he has a huge responsibility as a popular face and endorsing such products that harm someone’s health, irrespective of the money being offered to him.
Apart from Anil, actors like Kartik Aaryan and John Abraham have previously rejected similar deals. While Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan were a part of the ads for a long time, Akshay Kumar was slammed by the public when he started appearing in them.
The latest rejection by Anil Kapoor hints at the fact that he is completely against Ajay, SRK, and Akshay’s choices to say yes to such ads. This can also be considered a troll from Anil, who is possibly trying to convey a message to stop endorsing pan masala.
On the other hand, the other three actors have never responded to the criticism emerging out of their decisions to accept such deals.
Every actor has a huge fanbase and there has always been a saying that the public usually prefers to follow anything that is done by an actor on screen. It seems like Anil does not want that to happen.
