Sunny Deol’s much-awaited Lahore 1947, produced by Aamir Khan and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, has been delayed once again. Originally expected to follow the massive success of Gadar 2, the film is now unlikely to release before the second half of 2026.
Sources say the delay comes partly because shooting is still ongoing. Fresh schedules in Punjab are set to begin on October 10, with around 12 days of filming to make the locations look more authentic. But there is more speculation around the reasons.
Some industry voices claim the film’s narrative is being tweaked to appear more pro-India and align with the current wave of hyper-nationalist sentiment. Others suggest the delays reflect Aamir Khan’s well-known perfectionism, with reports of reshoots aimed at matching the film’s artistic vision with public mood.
